The algorithm, the character set, the concept of Natural Area Coding System and all the generated Natural Area Codes are copyrighted content of NAC Geographic Products Inc. and protected by the International Copyright Law.
Natural Area Coding System is a proprietary standard that requires licenses to use except that:
Consumers use NAC enhanced location products or services such as printed maps with NAC Grids, printed yellow pages with NAC enhanced business listing, online maps, local searches, directions, navigation systems, GIS software, etc;
Unless automating a collection of NACs, business users use NAC enhanced location products and services such as maps, local searches, directions, navigation systems, etc;
Users of a house or building use the NAC of the house or building;
Non-commercial applications authorized by NAC Geographic Products Inc. such as:
Marking the local Natural Area Code on the door or gate of each building or house as its address for postal service, emergency service, property registration, etc in any area in the world;
Marking the local Natural Area Code on each street sign or the pavement of a street as geographic coordinates to help travelers to efficiently navigate in the area;
Marking the local Natural Area Code as the identifier of each roadside object of a government such as a fire hydrant, street light, electric wire pole, manhole, parking meter, parking space, gas meter, etc;
Marking the local Natural Area Code as the identifier of each park property of a government such as a bench, BBQ grill, riverside rescue kit, tree, etc for people to date, gather and use conveniently;
Enhancing government’s property registration systems with Natural Area Codes as property identifiers and location/area identifiers for searching and map retrieving;
Enhancing government’s roadside objects management systems with Natural Area Codes as object identifiers and location/area identifiers for searching and map retrieving;
Enhancing government’s park properties management systems with Natural Area Codes as property identifiers and location/area identifiers for searching and map retrieving;
Printing the home Natural Area Code on each driver license as the address or part of the address of the driver;
Enhancing emergency dispatching and responding systems with Natural Area Codes to help non-profit emergency services (police, fire fighters and ambulance) to locate and communicate locations of emergencies accurately and efficiently.
Not-for-profit organizations and charitable foundations don’t need to sign separate licensing agreements for their non-commercial applications/projects with NAC Geographic Products Inc.
Royalty based licenses for commercial applications (maps with NAC Grids, GPS receivers, GPS navigation systems, mail sorting systems, online location based services, etc) that can input, display, retrieve, store or process Natural Area Codes or any of its derived codes can be obtained from NAC Geographic Products Inc.
